A desktop computer or laptop with a open USB port is a rare sight in most companies. Step 1: Go to Start > Run and type ‘regedit’ and then press enter. This will open Windows Registry.

Step 2: Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSet ControlStorageDevicePolicies

Step 3: Add a new DWORD ‘WriteProtect’ and put the value as 0 to disablewrite privileges to USB devices. And if you want to enable the write privilege simply delete the WriteProtect REG_DWORD or change the the value to 1.
